A developer has created a new tool that allows Apple users to change their iPhone’s system font in iOS 16 without having to jailbreak their phone. Over the years, Apple has increased the level of customization iPhone users have access to, according to MacRumors. One thing they can’t change is the iPhone font at the system level.
According to this report, developer Zhuowei Zhang exploited a vulnerability in previous versions of iOS 16 to create a system-wide font change tool for the iPhone, and to use this tool and change the font at the iPhone system level, you must be running iOS 16.1.2 or earlier according to the report. Because Zhang used a patched vulnerability in iOS 16.2.
Additionally, to check what version your iPhone is running, go to Settings > General > About, then look for the version listed as iOS version.
And last weekend, Apple stopped signing iOS 16.1.2, which means if users are using iOS 16.2, they can’t downgrade. The report added that the tool is available as a tool on GitHub. The file is an IPA and allows users to choose from several fonts such as Comic Sans MS, Fira Sans, and DejaVu Sans Mono.
