Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg dealt a new blow to billionaire Elon Musk, by opening the way for an account owned by a young man, who had been removed from Twitter due to his tracking of Musk’s private plane.
Jack Sweeney, who created an account that tracks US billionaire Elon Musk’s private jet, has joined Mark Zuckerberg’s new Threads platform following suspending his Twitter account last year.
“Illongite has come to Threads,” Sweeney said in his first post on Twitter’s rival Threads platform, Thursday.
Sweeney’s account on Threads had more than 21,000 followers as of Saturday morning.
The Elongate account tracks the movements of Elon Musk’s private jet using data available in the public domain.
Musk’s Twitter company suspended the Elongate account in December, and the billionaire threatened legal action once morest the account’s operator following he said a “crazy stalker” had mistakenly tracked his son.
Millions of users joined Meta-owned Threads within hours, including prominent personalities such as Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The Threads platform seeks to take advantage of the weak state of Twitter following a series of chaotic decisions taken by Musk.
