The youth of the department of Mbacké will finally be able to enjoy its sports stadium following a long wait. According to the Minister of Sports, who announced the news on Friday, the stadium will be operational in two months. Accompanied by a strong delegation, Yankhoba Diattara was welcomed by the mayor of Mbacké for a field visit to see the progress of the work on the stadium, which has restarted since 2019.
The minister told the press that the synthetic turf was functional and that the 2,500-seat grandstand was in its final stages. All that remained was the tiling as well as two trays for basketball and handball. At the end of his site visit, Yankhoba Diattara reassured the youth of Mbacké by saying that the stadium would be ready in two months, the company having promised to deliver the entire project on time. Mayor Gallo Ba has also made arrangements with Senelec to have electricity available at the stadium.

The councilor of Mbacké, also Minister of the Public Service, hopes that President Macky Sall will come to inaugurate the stadium in person. He also said that the management model was being processed and that the Mbacké town hall had committed to delivering electricity in the coming days.
