Announcements from US publishers for early next year are already starting to arrive online. The publishing house Marvel is one of the first to draw, with a new series that will be dedicated to Wanda Maximoffalso known as Scarlet Witch. After its resurgence in popularity through the adaptations of Marvel Studios (particularly WandaVision then Doctor Strange: in the Multiverse of Madness), Marvel accompanies the heroine with a new paper publication.
All-New All-Different Scarlet Witch
The character of Scarlet Witch has experienced some recent upheavals, in terms of publications X-Menwith notably Trial of Magneto. Now that she’s in new stirrups, it’s time to give her a new series (that’s how Marvel presents it, but it may actually be a miniseries) in the company of Steve Orlando (Marauders, Darkhold) to the screenplay and the excellent Sara Pichelli (co-creator of Miles Morales, need we remind you?) to the drawing. The cover of the first issue, to be found at the end of the article, is signed Russell Dauterman (The Mighty Thor).
A new direction, therefore, for Scarlet Witch, who will fully embrace a superheroic orientation, using his immeasurable magic and powers to help those in trouble. The publisher explains in its press release that Scarlet Witch appears to people in need while being in a curious shop. The story will begin when a woman in distress arrives at Wanda to tell him regarding a town whose entire population has gone mad. What Scarlet Witch will have to investigate – and potentially confront an insidious evil.
Scarlet Witch #1 is announced for January 4, 2023.
