After the great controversy raised by pictures of the Lebanese artist, Ragheb Alama, hosted by the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan and his wife, pictures were spread on social networking sites that were said to have been extracted from a new video published by the ambassador’s wife, in which she flirts with the Lebanese artist.
However, the woman in the picture is not the ambassador’s wife, but rather another Iraqi woman who denounced the use of her photos in this misleading context.
In the photo, a woman appears, alongside the Lebanese artist, Ragheb Alama. And the accompanying comments stated, “Photos circulating of a woman – it is said – that she is the wife of Iraq’s ambassador to Jordan, publishes a new controversial video clip and flirts with Ragheb Alama: (A perfect human being).”
The spread of these pictures began days following the Lebanese artist, Ragheb Alama, posted on his Twitter account pictures of him with the ambassador and his wife that had sparked great controversy on social media, and the matter in Baghdad summoned its ambassador from Jordan.
Many commented on the paradox of the poor social and political situation in Iraq, whose population suffers from unemployment, poverty and lack of services, in return for the luxury they see as the political class.
Activists on the Internet considered the photos to be “inappropriate” for a diplomat, while some criticized the attack on the ambassador’s wife following these photos in a society that is still largely conservative.
Some of the ambassador’s wife was also subjected to profanity and insults because she appeared in the pictures very close to Ragheb Alama.
And the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement late Saturday that it had summoned its ambassador in Jordan, Haider Al-Athari, to Baghdad, following it had said earlier that it was following “with interest the photos circulated on social media regarding the ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
It added that it “will take appropriate measures in this regard and as soon as possible in a manner that enhances the values of Iraqi diplomacy.”

However, these pictures have nothing to do with all that.
The woman in the pictures is an Iraqi named Enas Al-Nadawi, and she introduces herself through her account on Instagram as the head of the media committee at the Saudi Quality Center and a member of the Emirates Red Crescent.
The woman had published this video clip, from which the pictures were taken, in January 2020, accompanied by Ragheb Alama, addressing him with kind words.
The woman denounced the circulating publications claiming that she is the wife of the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan through the “Stories” feature, which she published on the Instagram application.
