A new Kobo Clara HD reader is approaching

Some call it Kobo Clara HD 2 or Kobo Clara 2 E, which seems certain is that Rakuten Kobo is regarding to release a new digital book reader.

This ebook reader would replace the very popular Kobo Clara HD released in 2018!

For the moment we have some information on the technical specificities of the e-reader, without having an idea of ​​its look.

New Kobo Clara what do we know?

The new Kobo e-reader would have a six-inch E INK Carta 1200 screen.
It will have a 300 PPI screen and will have a front-lit display and an illumination temperature system.

This new e-reader is rumored to be the world’s first e-reader to use the new E Ink ComfortGaze. This new lighting technology reduces the amount of blue light, with Reduced Blue Light Ratio (BLR) and Blue Light Toxicity Factor (BLTF) by up to 60% and 24% respectively.)

The Kobo Clara 2022 will have a USB-C port. It would weigh 171 grams and be waterproof. The battery would be 1500 mAh.

The reader’s storage space would be 16GB instead of 8GB on the old model because the user can also buy and listen to audio books. The reader would also have Bluetooth in order to connect wireless headsets.

Another probable novelty, the hull of the Kobo Clara 2E would be made of 100% recycled plastic.
According to a Dutch site that put the reader on pre-order for a moment, it would cost 149 euros, or 10 euros more than theold model.
