The case of Grant Wahl would unfortunately not be isolated. On Saturday, the Qatari newspaper “Gulf Times” announced on its social networks the death of Khalid al-Misslam, a photojournalist working for Al Kass TV, a Qatari sports channel.
”Qatari al-Misslam died suddenly while covering the 2022 World Cup”, specifies the Gulf Times on Twitter, which expresses its condolences to the family of the victim.

The circumstances of the death of al-Misslam, nor those of Grant Wahl, have not yet been elucidated. FIFA has not yet commented on the subject.
