It’s a new record! An original iPhone in a blister pack has been sold for $63,000 at auction. This is the highest sum ever seen for this model. The device went on sale earlier this month.
After receiving 27 offers, this 8 GB iPhone finally went for 63,356 dollars and 40 cents. This is more than 105 times the price of this model initially marketed for 599 dollars. An original iPhone already went up for auction last summer, and the phone sold for “only” $35,000.

The history of this model is interesting: it was offered to a person who at the time had a line at Verizon and not at AT&T, the only operator compatible with the iPhone at the time.
