Swimmers will be delighted. Indeed, the Shokz brand (formerly AfterShokz), specializing in bone conduction headphones, has launched a new model dedicated to the activity.
The OpenSwim, a waterproof and autonomous device designed especially for swimmers, will surely change the lengths! Indeed, as La Voix du Nord reports, this audio headset (sold for €159.95) is sufficient in itself for long hours of swimming to music. Say goodbye to Bluetooth, the telephone left near the water to connect… The OpenSwim has an autonomy of 8 hours, and can withstand total immersion in up to 2 meters of water. Just that.
1200 songs capacity
But how does it work? The brand used a bone conduction technique. Concretely speaking: the ear remains free, and can accommodate swimming caps (a pair is delivered with the helmet). The conductive part is placed in front of the ear, the rest of the electronics (battery, storage, etc.) just behind, specify our colleagues. In order not to lose the object in the water, a hoop passes behind the neck.
On the storage side, you can load up to 1,200 songs, in MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC and FLAC formats.
Its only drawback lies in the fact of having to download music in order to save it, at the time of online music platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify or Deezer. But good news: being totally protected once morest dust, you can also use it for running or cycling.
