A new haven of peace for teenagers at the Lenval hospital in Nice

Bright colors, words of encouragement, spaces for chiller (“have a good time doing nothing” according Little Robert) as the young people say… This terrace has been set up especially for them in the child psychiatry department of the Lenval hospital thanks to the association Allons enfants… rions!

The latter strives to find solutions to ease the daily lives of hospitalized children. This is all the more important for teenagers who by nature are already going through a crucial stage in their development. So you might as well offer them a bit of relaxation during their treatment journey.

It was Juliette Seveillac of La Tour d’Auvergne, president of the association, who designed the redevelopment. “It’s an area that was hardly used, with white walls. It was a bit sad to tell the truth. So we found furniture (with the support of Balitrand and Ubaldi) and we redecorated the place so that they are more joyful, with lively colors and adequate equipment. We were able to finance all of this thanks to the commitment of the artists: Bruno Bébert had the photograph of his famous wave on the Prom’ printed in several copies which have been customized by Patrick Moya, SAB, Virginie Broquet, Anthony Alberti alias Mr OneTeas, Jean-François Bollié, RichardWoleck, Sveta, Jacky Hananou while Audrey Bollaro and Bernard Brunstein have completely reinterpreted it.The sale of these works – three are still available – helped fund this project.”

The 1981 boxing champion, Tony Vivarelli, now vice-president of the Nice Azur boxe club, offered a punching bag to allow young people to exercise and let off steam.

“Beyond comfort for teenagers, it’s also a breath of fresh air for the teams.. A space that demonstrates that they are not alone in caring regarding these young people, a place adapted to the life of teenagers where they exchange and share moments where care is mixed with daily life. This layout is also a source of pride for the whole team.”, says Dr. Emmanuelle Dor, child and adolescent psychiatrist.

The president of the Lenval foundation, Jean-François Comas, warmly thanked the association, emphasizing “mutual aid and human values” that these two entities share.
