To celebrate the Gamescom 2022 event, Square Enix brings us a new trailer that reveals more regarding the gameplay and the story of Forspoken.

Forspoken is a new action-RPG game in development incorporating elements of fantasy, like magic, into its story. The game is developed by Luminous Productions, a sub-branch owned by Square Enix. Forspoken follows the adventure of Frey, a New Yorker catapulted into the beautiful and cruel world of Athia. Frey will have to use her new magic skills to cross vast landscapes, face monstrous creatures, and return home.
Aspects to remember in the trailer
The story seems quite typical of this genre of fantasy adventures. The main character, Frey, is absorbed in a world unknown to her that she must save from the ultimate villain. Everyone in this new world is counting on Frey as she slowly discovers her powers and new strengths.
Your character will have to fight enemies all around her and discover the universe thanks to her magic. She will also have a companion who will allow her to scan her surroundings to discover quests and other things useful for adventure. Since it’s still an RPG, you can also change armor, accumulate experience points, concoct potions and more.
The game was scheduled for October 11, but the release is still pushed back to January 24, 2023 on PS5 and PC. Watch the full ten-minute trailer here.
