Swiss developer, Daniel Lutz, moved to Montreal in 2010. Since then, he has made a name for himself as creative director on successful mobile games such as Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go at Square Enix Montreal. Isle of Arrows is a tower defense game with a minimalistic yet pretty design that incorporates roguelite and board game elements.
In Isle of Arrows, players build their defenses by placing tiles one at a time, which reminds us of the mechanics of board games such as Carcassonne. Each tile has a unique effect: towers attack invaders, paths lengthen the road on which enemies advance, flags extend the island and give us more space to build, taverns make towers stronger, etc.
Here is a trailer where the developer explains the mechanics of the game:
Isle of Arrows est disponible on Steamand will be available October 6 on iOS and Android.
