In a new lapse, US President Joe Biden, during a speech regarding providing more aid to Ukraine, stuttered when referring to a group of Russian businessmen as “kleptocracy” thieves, prompting criticism from a number of lawmakers.
In the midst of his speech, Biden said that he would send a comprehensive support package to Congress that would enhance efforts to adapt to the Russian oligarchy, as he put it.
“Bumble Chief”
He also stressed that his administration would “withhold the gains that they have gained by illegal means, and will seize their private ships, their luxurious homes, and all their gains.”
But he stammered when he got to his last sentence, saying “caused by kleptocracy – Putin..k, yes, kleptocracy, boys who are kleptocracy. Ha-ha-ha”.
What sparked a number of American criticism. Jim Hanson, CEO of “America Matters”, considered that “America deserves better,” as he put it.
In turn, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton tweeted, attached the video, and said, “a disturbing clip.”
“Slip of the tongue”
Also, Washington Times columnist Tim Young commented that Biden is struggling with something he owns with his family.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that the actions of the master of the White House have raised criticism and questions among a number of Americans.
Last March, Biden’s statement that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin might not remain in power provoked the reactions of international officials and analysts, but the US administration was quick to deny this, considering it a mere “slip of the tongue.”
