A woman died overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Büren an der Aare. The alleged perpetrator would be her husband.
Last night, shortly following 2:10 a.m., a witness alerted the Bernese cantonal police that a violent argument was taking place between a couple in the collective accommodation center in Büren an der Aare. The intervention forces who immediately went to the scene found a seriously injured woman in a room. Despite the immediate rescue measures of the intervention forces, his death must have been pronounced shortly followingwards. There are concrete clues concerning the identity of the deceased, but her formal identification has not yet been made.

The Bernese Jura-Seeland regional public prosecutor and the Bernese cantonal police communicated this followingnoon on this feminicide. The alleged perpetrator, the husband of the deceased woman, was able to be arrested on the spot. He had serious hand injuries and was taken to hospital. The 42-year-old man of Afghan nationality is suspected of assaulting his wife and inflicting fatal injuries on her. The Care Team of the canton of Bern has been engaged to take care of those affected.

In addition, two ambulance teams and several specialists from the forensic science and from the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the University of Bern also intervened.
