The price of gold fell today, Saturday, at the beginning of trading, at a value of 4 pounds per gram, despite the increase in the price of the yellow metal globally.
The movement of gold in the local market has been fluctuating between ups and downs since the beginning of this month, according to Nadi Naguib, former Secretary General of the Gold Division at the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, to Masrawy.
Najib added that the buying and selling movement is weak in the local market during the current period, despite Christmas.
And gold sales declined during the last quarter of last year, especially with the beginning of the school year, according to Ihab Wassef, head of the Gold Division at the Federation of Industries, to Masrawy earlier.

The prices of 14 karat gold were recorded at 524 pounds per gram.
The price of 18 karat gold reached 674 pounds per gram.
And the price of 21 karat gold was recorded at 786 pounds per gram.
The price of 24 carat gold reached 898 pounds per gram.

The price of the gold pound reached 6288 pounds, and the price may vary from one dealer to another, and this price is equal to the value of gold in the pound, and its price is linked to the prices of a gram of 21 karat.
