Al-Marsad Newspaper-SPA: His Excellency the Advisor at the Royal Court, General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, and head of the medical and surgical team in separating Siamese twins, Dr. Abdullah Specialist for Children at King Abdulaziz Medical City of the National Guard in Riyadh.
His Excellency added, in a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency, that, by the grace of God Almighty, all the vital signs of the twins have become normal, and the twins have begun to breastfeed through a tube, and they are interacting normally with their parents, and there are no signs of concern for the medical team.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah explained that, God willing, the twins will be transferred from the intensive care room to the pediatric ward within two days, which confirms the improvement of their health condition.
And he added that it is also expected that the tubes that were placed to remove the secretions under the skin, as well as the tubes that were placed to remove the bile juice from the twin “Ali”, will be lifted during the next week, God willing, indicating that the twins are expected to stay in the hospital between 4 to 6 weeks. After that, the medical team decides whether they can be discharged from the hospital to continue their treatment from their homes.
His Excellency raised his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for their generous support and care, stressing that the Kingdom will remain a medical edifice and a beacon of civilizational radiation inexhaustible in humanitarian initiatives and support for the needy wherever they are.
It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Siamese twins (Omar and Ali) underwent a precise separation operation on Thursday, Jumada al-Akhirah 19 1444 AH corresponding to January 12, 2023 AD. conducted in the Kingdom since 1990 AD, and the fifth case of separating Siamese twins from the sister Republic of Iraq.
