Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing intends to approve a new pricing for paid parking lots, as the Federation of Saudi Chambers published the requirements for paid parking lots, requesting views on them and proposing appropriate solutions for them, before the requirements are finally approved by the Ministry.
3 riyals per hour
The decision requires that the first 20 minutes be free from entering the car until leaving the parking lot, provided that the parking fee does not exceed 3 riyals per hour.
With the exception of parking lots for people with disabilities, the service is provided to them free of charge.
stipulations
The new requirements included obligating investors to adhere to the dimensions of the parking lots for people with disabilities, according to what was stated in the simplified guide to universal access standards, in a manner that does not contradict the Saudi Building Code, and to provide security cameras at the entrances and exits of the parking lots, with the allocation of a monitor throughout the operation period in the parking lot.
Providing an electronic system
The requirements oblige investors in the field to provide an integrated electronic system that operates on a computer and is linked to the entry gates to control the entry and exit operations and the period for which the vehicles are rented for parking, and to provide an electronic gate that allows the entry and exit of vehicles following receiving and paying the entry ticket.
