The greetings ceremony of the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Nice took place in the staff restaurant of the Pasteur 2 hospital, in the presence of institutional partners, local elected officials and staff members.

In turn, at the podium, the members of the establishment’s authorities underlined the importance of future projects such as the upcoming creation of a pharmacy training branch, the opening of the second phase of the hospital Pasteur 2 in 2025 and especially the regrouping – by 2031 – of Lenval, the Antoine-Lacassagne center, L’Archet and the Cimiez hospital on a single location, located on the Var plain.

This will make it possible to offer a great deal in terms of public health. On the Var Plain project, each establishment will of course keep its personality”wanted to highlight Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the supervisory board of the CHU.

Professor Jacques Levrault, president of the establishment medical commission (CME) recalled a major objective of the CHU: “Straighten the financial trajectory of the establishment.

For his part, Professor Jean Dellamonica, dean of the faculty of medicine, expressed a wish, that of obtaining an increase in the quota of interns. “Because currently, we are entrusted with the smallest number of medical interns with 175 positions.”

The ceremony ended with the signing of the new governance charter. Led by the trio “doctor, healthcare executive and administrative executive”, the polar delegation aims to involve medical staff in decision-making and governance by focusing on collective intelligence.

“The Nice University Hospital will then become the first University Hospital in France to adopt a model of medical and decentralized governance, welcomed Rodolphe Bourret, general director. For the first time, doctors at a university hospital will be given the delegation to act as close as possible to patients. This new dynamic will be accompanied by a rebound in our activity and will guarantee the quality and safety of care.”

And to add that meetings will be organized in order “to allay concerns” around this major project.
