This includes contacting a number of passengers who traveled near the patient on the same flight to the UK. People without symptoms are not considered infectious, but, as a precaution, those who have traveled nearby are being contacted to ensure that if they are sick they can be treated quickly. It is the 7th case of monkeypox in the UK and the only recorded case since two patients were identified in North Wales in 2021 (new 17582 of June 27, 2021).
