The Telegram team is preparing to release the next update of the messenger, the main innovation of which is likely to be Telegram Premium.
However, the subscription will not be the only innovation – other changes became known thanks to the new beta versions of Telegram for android. Let’s talk regarding them in more detail.

New settings for autosave to gallery and streaming of all types of videos
- In the messenger settings, a choice of chat categories has appeared, from which media files will be automatically saved.
- Now you can stream all videos, including files with the .mkv extension.
Updated sticker menu
- There is now a more visible button for adding a sticker pack.
- When previewing stickers, the background is now blurred, with the context menu appearing below the sticker instead of underneath.
- The menu of recent stickers can be cleared by tapping on the cross in the right corner.
- A new section in the settings – “Stickers and Emoji”.
Verification checkboxes are now in the chat window
Previously, the verification icon was displayed only in the general list of chats or on the profile page – now it is also visible inside the chat, opposite the name.
Preview chats like in the iOS client
The chat preview function has been significantly updated, which functionally began to repeat the capabilities of the client for iOS.
By holding your finger on the avatar until the preview opens, you can release your finger and scroll the dialogue up, while it will remain unread. However, when previewing, a context menu appeared with some functions.
Alternative app icons
In the chat settings, it became possible to change the application icon that is displayed on the desktop. There are two additional options to choose from. Recall that Premium users will have access to three more icons.
