Performer Eleni Antoniou meets classical guitarist Dimitris Makris in a mystifying musical dialogue between West and East. From the Brazilian Bonfa, Nino Rota, and Nina Simone, to Tsitsanis, Hadjidakis, Kraunakis and plenty of others, the chosen preparations of the world repertoire mixed with the sensitivity, information and want for communication of the 2 artists name us on a journey that has a certain vacation spot of enjoyment and thriller. THE Eleni Antoniou was born and raised in Thessaloniki, studied Theater Research on the College of Patras within the Division of Theater Research and Modern Singing (grade Glorious with Distinction) on the Patras Conservatory (class: Vasilikis Kefala). She continued her postgraduate research in Theater at EKPA within the Division of Theater Research (specializing in Performing) and musical research in jazz improvisation and exploring Jap Mediterranean Musicians and City Track. Her repertoire is vast and ranges between outdated city, rebetiko, artwork tune and jazz.
THE Dimitris Makris was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1974 the place he took his first guitar classes from E Danneberg. He continued his research in Greece with P. Kydoniatis after which with Evangelos Asimakopoulos from the place he graduated and obtained his diploma with honors. He has attended seminars with: Lisa Zoi, Oscar Chiglia, Frederick Hand, Jerry Willard, Goran Sollscher, R. Dyens, and many others. He has appeared in recitals and live shows in Greece (Patra, Athens, Thessaloniki, and many others.) in addition to overseas (Sweden, California, Florida). he has collaborated as a soloist with the Patraiki Mandolinata Orchestra in addition to in Chamber Music ensembles.
Since 2001, he has been instructing classical guitar at conservatories in Patras (Filippos Nakas Conservatory, Linio Conservatory, and many others.) and at his personal Guitar Faculty “Formigx”. A lot of his college students, having obtained a Diploma/Diploma, work as music academics in faculties and conservatories all through Greece.
