“I’m more nervous for them than for me, but I’m happy to come home.” admits Quentin Mosimann, winner of Star Academy 7 and former coach of The Voice Belgium for 4 seasons, following his introductory show on Kiss de Prince. “It was the first title I sang, at 19, on the stage of the Star Academy.” Moved and “nostalgic”, the Swiss dj – who was happy to see BJ Scott once more – saw it as a kind of lucky charm, “a way to close the loop” singing this title of Prince.
Known for having made bloopers all over the world by “breaking his jaws” following Bj Scott who had removed his shoelaces, the Mama of The Voice Belgium wanted to be forgiven this Tuesday evening by offering him new shoes! “It was a great moment in television,” they both confessed regarding this slip on the telecrochet set.
After the piece “Reine” by Dadju performed by the brother of Gims -guest of honor- and the talents of The Voice Belgium, place to the verdict on the team of Christophe Willem. Between Manal, Mareva, Arthmony and Enola, it is the duo Arthmony (drafted by the public) and Enola (drafted by his coach) who continue the adventure. “I might not decide between those of my team, that’s why I continue with the outsider”.
You moonwalk and crocs
Then place the team of BJ Scott. Between the hypnotizing Chloé on her cover of Celeste, the UFO Alec (“you’re trembling with the desire to sing”) on Imagine Dragons (Enemy) and the rocker Raphael who “sung better than the original” (the hit de Maneskin, winner of the last Eurovision) according to Mosimann, the Mama of The Voice Belgium opted for her favorite alias Alec and the public for the rock addict, and who embraced his Italian origins this evening, named Raphael.
The Black M team then entered the dance. And not just any, from the moonwalk in fangs on the title of Michael Jackson “Rock My Mind” taken over by Levandé. Followed by Dalida’s “Let me dance” Roxane version and finally the terrible Léo Ferré taken over by Sekina.
Results? It is Sekina (drafted by the public and validated by Mosimann) and Roxanne (drafted by her coach) who continue the adventure. “Levandé already knows how to do everything, that’s why I’m going to support Roxane” according to Black M.
Ukraine in the spotlight and… a whole plateau in tears
And to close this 2nd Live of The Voice Belgium 10, make way for the Typh Barrow team. Who of Valentine (perched on her piano), Oan’s “power over me” (the powerful introvert) or the Ukrainian nugget Diana (drafted last week)) will win the last tickets of the anniversary season? The latter, from Namur of Ukrainian origin, has also chosen a song from her country which gave chills, caused tears and touched the guts of the entire RTBF plateau. “With everything that is happening in my country, I want to speak out”. Moment of intense emotion with this piece of peace, love and hope entitled You are not Syogodni by Ivan Dorn. “A slap!” according to her coach who salutes her performance sung both in Ukrainian and in French (like this passage: “there is no horizon if you are not there”) and recalls that Diana still has family in Ukraine, even if his parents – present in the Liège studio – are back from Ukraine. “We cannot remain insensitive to that”.
Final verdict? Valentine was picked up by the public and… Diana by her coach. “I decided on instinct and I can’t not continue with Diana”.
In short, following first two Lives, the 16 finalists for The Voice Belgium 10 are now known. See you next Tuesday, 8:35 p.m. on La Une, for the third Live with Marc Pinilla (Suarez) as honorary coach and Amir as guest.
