After Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, a film of a concert performed by the band Queen in Montreal in 1981 will be shown in cinemas equipped with IMAX technology between January 18 and 21.

A joint statement by the companies “IMAX”, which provides an immersive experience, and “Pathé Live”, which distributes cultural works in cinemas, stated that it is “the first time” that a concert by the band “Queen”, whose leader was the late singer Freddie Mercury, will be shown in the cinema.

The concert, titled “Queen Rock Montreal,” was previously released on video and DVD. This musical event begins with a special performance of the song “We Will Rock You,” and includes many songs, including “Simpadee to Love,” “Under Presser,” and “We Are the Champions.”

The statement quoted the band’s guitarist, Brian May, as saying: “We did not realize at the time that this film documented one of Queen’s most important concerts during our glory period on stage.”

During filming, the director focused on Freddie, providing “the most important video clip” of the singer “at his full strength.”

The film “Queen Rock Montreal” is scheduled to be shown in 450 cinemas equipped with IMAX technology in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Brazil and Mexico.
