Thiruvananthapuram | Govt to reinstate Saji Cherian to cabinet Governor Arif Muhammad Khan sought legal advice on the move. The Governor’s Standing Council was sought for advice on the validity of Saji Cherian’s oath. With this, the war between the governor and the government has reached a new level. The governor will return to Kerala tomorrow and take a decision on Saji Cherian’s oath.
The decision to return Saji Cherian to the cabinet was taken in the CPM secretariat meeting held last day. It is agreed that the oath will be administered before the assembly session. The chief minister was tasked to fix the date as per the convenience of the governor. The government is thinking of allocating the fisheries and film culture departments that were handled by Saji Cherian.
Saji Cherian had to resign from the ministerial post for making unconstitutional remarks. The High Court had earlier rejected the plea seeking disqualification of Saji Cherian from the post of MLA.
