MAZATLÁN._ A motorcyclist, originally from Tijuana, was shot to death on the Mazatlan coastal promenade, by armed men, who shot him at close range, when he was meeting with relatives on Paseo Claussen, at the height of Playa Norte, at a few meters from Martiniano Carvajal Park.
The deceased, who died from the shots received, was left riding and lying on the gas tank of a white motorcycle, parked very close to the sidewalk, in the middle of Motorcycle Week, where hundreds of bikers tour the city.
Civil Protection paramedics approached the victim to provide first aid, but he no longer showed vital signs.
From a distance it was seen that the deceased was wearing a black shirt and pants.
Municipal police and the Investigative Police were in charge of cordoning off the area of the attack, to ward off hundreds of onlookers who were trying to capture a photo of the tragic scene, most of them were motorcyclists and other customers of nearby businesses.
Paseo Claussen was blocked to vehicular traffic in both directions, from Gutiérrez Nájera Avenue to Benito Juárez Street,
The deceased was called Francisco Javier “N”, 45 years old and originally from Tijuana, Baja California.
Friday of tragic events with motorcyclists
This Friday has been very violent in the context of the celebration of Motorcycle Week in Mazatlan.
In the first minutes of this Friday, a motorcyclist was seriously injured following colliding with a car on Paseo Claussen, at the height of the Los Pinos subdivision.
The accident was recorded at 00:25 hours this Friday on Paseo Claussen, almost on the corner of Las Palmas street in the Los Pinos subdivision.
In a curve, the motorcyclist collided with the side of a Nissan March car, for which he was projected and hit the sidewalk and was left unconscious on the bike lane.
Hours later, but also on this Friday, another motorcyclist crashed into a truck in the Golden Zone and died in hospital while receiving medical attention.
The fatal accident occurs in the context of the celebration of Motorcycle Week in Mazatlan, where the roads of the tourist area are since Wednesday with a high influx of motorcyclists, who join the car traffic for the holiday season.
The victim was identified as Martín Humberto “N”, 57, originally from Culiacán.
