Minjoo Kang Hospital “Consistent false explanations before appointment… Fatal disqualification reasons”
A claim has been raised that the mother of the Minister of Health and Welfare candidate Kim Seung-hee donated the apartment to the daughter of her granddaughter, Kim, and also the younger brother of her son, Kim, in an expedient way.
Previously, the Ministry of Health and Welfare explained that it was “to raise living expenses” on suspicion of an expedient gift because Kim’s mother sold an apartment to the candidate’s daughter at a lower price than the surrounding market price.
According to the office of the Democratic Party’s Kang Hospital on the 3rd, Kim’s younger brother bought an apartment in Sangdo-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul for 460 million won from his mother in May 2019.
This apartment is the same apartment that Kim’s mother sold to her granddaughter Kim’s daughter in March of the same year.
460 million won is also the same amount as Kim’s daughter bought an apartment from Kim’s mother, which is said to be regarding 100 million won cheaper than the actual transaction price of the apartment at the time.
Candidate Kim’s daughter bought this apartment from her maternal grandmother, Kim’s mother, and then gave it to her maternal grandmother for 360 million won.
In response, Rep. Kang’s side is arguing that Kim’s mother had illegally donated the apartment to both her granddaughter and son.
It was found that the mother of candidate Kim sold an apartment to her daughter for 460 million won, and then paid 360 million won to buy a charter in the apartment.
The fact that the daughter of candidate Kim owns an apartment with only 100 million won has been raised several points regarding whether this is an expedient gift.
In response, the Ministry of Health and Welfare said, “The candidate’s mother sought a buyer on the condition that she maintains her current residence while raising living expenses. He explained, “The candidate’s daughter gave the candidate’s mother a charter because she wanted to continue living in the apartment where the elderly candidate’s mother lived.”
Rep. Kang said, “Candidate Kim explained that his 99-year-old mother at the time had bought and sold her grandmother’s real estate to raise money, but it was revealed that the candidate’s younger brother bought another apartment for his mother at the same time.” It was an expedient gift disguised as a sale.”
Rep. Kang emphasized, “No public will easily understand the explanation that he traded real estate for his mother’s living expenses.”
