The 90,000 square foot, 5-storey multidisciplinary center is currently under construction near the L’Oiselière hotel, at the corner of rue Lorenzo Auger and boulevard Wilfrid-Carrier. The opening is scheduled for November 2023.
This project is carried out by Réseau MAclinique, in partnership with the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.
To start, the clinic will bring together 18 family physicians and 8 specialist physicians who already work at the network clinic on boulevard Étienne-Dallaire (formerly the GMF Lévis-Métro) and who will be moving to the new facilities.
“We are in discussions with several other physicians, both family physicians and medical specialists, to have them come and settle in the complex,” said Chantal Guimont, associate physician and president, Réseau MAclinique.
“With this project, we want to create the GMF of the future where we will have an optimization of space that allows several professionals to work very efficiently. What is expected in the long term is around thirty family doctors with their teams, ”she added.
Partners
In addition to the public medical clinic, approximately 70% of the space will be occupied by partners from the health sector. The total amount of the investment, estimated at $60 million, includes the contribution of the partners who will be responsible for the leasehold improvements. The MAclinic Network will include three FMGs with Lévis. The organization is already present in Quebec and Laval.
“The objective, by creating a new health complex, is precisely to attract people who will want to work in this environment,” added Ms. Guimont.
Network clinics, like the one that will open in Lévis, are accessible to people who do not have a family doctor.
“Network clinics are the ones that will more easily unclog hospitals and outpatient clinics. This is how we will bring new doctors to the territory,” she said.
“Patient well-being is at the heart of our concerns. We are a group of family doctors, specialist doctors, real estate developers who want to change the accessibility of health care,” said Ms. Guimont.
