A marine pollution reduction device is developed that will collect the waste in the water

Automobile company Suzuki has developed a device to reduce ocean pollution that can clean small pieces of plastic from the ocean.

Japan’s Suzuki Motors has announced that it has developed a device that enables the outboard motor of boats to collect microplastics.

Microplastics are tiny pieces of plastic that, because they are so small, can easily pass through any filter plant and end up in lakes and rivers, where they pose a threat to marine life.

The Suzuki company had been researching for many years to solve the problem of water pollution caused by plastic waste.

According to the motor vehicle company, it focused on outboard motors on boats and ships that pump tons of water to keep the engine cool.

This new device, made by Suzuki, will filter the water discharged from these pumps and collect the waste in the water. According to the company, simply sailing the boat will collect microplastics on the surface of the surrounding water.

On Tuesday, Suzuki crews tested the new device at Lake Hamana in Shizuoka Prefecture. In addition to components believed to be microplastics, the device collected moss and sand.

The Suzuki company plans to put this new device on sale within the next year.
