A Seoul ward official who ran away following sneaking into someone’s house in the middle of the night and trying to molest him was caught by the police.

According to the police on the 12th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul urgently arrested a man in his 50s at a multi-family house in Bukgajwa-dong, Seoul on the followingnoon of the 10th for violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. Person A turned out to be a team leader-level civil servant working at the Mapo-gu Office in Seoul.

Person A is accused of sneaking into the house following crossing the wall of the victim’s house around 4 am on the 10th, opening the closed bathroom window, and then attempting to molest the victim who was sleeping on the sofa and running away when the victim screamed.

After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and conducted an investigation through CCTV, etc., and caught Mr. A in a residential area only 500 meters away from the victim’s home.

At the time of the arrest, Mr. A reportedly stated that he had been drinking and on the way home, sneaked into the victim’s home and touched the victim’s quilt while he was asleep.
