When the police wanted to conduct a breath test for alcohol concentration on Zheng Nan and informed him of his rights to implement the alcohol test procedure, Zheng Nan refused to take the test on the spot. Further investigation by the police found that Zheng Nan had also refused to take the alcohol test when he was stopped for a drink test while riding a motorcycle in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City the day before.

At the time of Zheng Nan’s case, although he was stopped by the police for traffic violations, he had refused to accept the alcohol test twice. The North City police offered up to NT$360,000 in fines for refusing the alcohol test. Zheng Nan did not drive in the right direction for a traffic violation.

The Nangang Police Station reminded that the new system of penalties for drunk driving has been revised and implemented. According to Article 35, Paragraph 5 of the Road Traffic Management Penalty Regulations, motorcyclists who violate the provisions of Paragraph 4 for the second time within 10 years will be fined 360,000 yuan. , transfer and keep the motor and locomotive on the spot, revoke its driver’s license, suspend the vehicle license for 2 years and impose road traffic safety training. At the same time, the highway authorities may publish their names, photos, and the facts of the violation. The public should not try the law and take chances. In addition, passengers in the same vehicle should stop drinking drivers from driving on the road, and make good use of the drunk driving service to jointly prevent the occurrence of drunk driving.
