Last week, a Mouscronnois died while renovating a house in Chapelle-à-Wattines (Leuze-en-Hainaut), in a dwelling belonging to Brigitte Aubert, mayor of Mouscron. While painting the house, he died of a heart attack. Once there, the emergency services unfortunately could not do anything to save the pensioner. The prosecution also descended on the spot and did not follow up on the file.
This house belongs to Brigitte Aubert and the man who worked there was a friend of the family. According to the information revealed by our colleagues from Notélé, the man would have offered to help them out following an entrepreneur who failed them.
However, the situation raises questions and puts the mayor in a delicate situation. She is suspected of fraud by the labor auditor of Hainaut. The organization has opened a file against the mayor for illegal work. They will have to determine if the man was moonlighting or not. “The file is ongoing and investigations must be carried out. We have to check if it was a worker or a friend who was present on site, ”explained Charles-Eric Clesse, labor auditor from Hainaut, at the microphone of Notélé.
For her part, the mayor explained to our colleagues that this person worked “graciously in all friendship”.
