A man, moved to tears, testified to a British jury last Monday regarding an alleged sexual assault by actor Kevin Spacey, as part of the American star’s ongoing trial before the British judiciary on charges of sexual assault.
The 63-year-old actor, who won two Oscars, is still being tried in London for a series of sexual crimes once morest four men that took place between 2001 and 2013, especially from 2004 when he was director of the Old Vic Theater in the British capital.
A fourth of Spacey’s alleged victims, whose names have not been released for legal reasons, said he had previously heard gossip regarding the movie star regarding his love for “heterosexual youth”.
But he said he did not know at that point that he was being sexually “stalked”.
Prosecutors in the case allege that Spacey was a “sexual bully” who enjoyed making others feel uncomfortable.
Three other men recounted being repeatedly sexually harassed by the star, despite their request that he stop.
In a police interview presented to the court, the fourth plaintiff said he left the actor’s apartment in tears when he refused to comply with his sexual desires.
The man, who was aspiring to advance in the world of acting, told a policeman that he condoned Spicey’s sexual harassment of him “because you cannot stop someone who has so much power in an industry you are trying to take your first steps in.”
He pointed out that “the social influence enjoyed by (Spacey) is enormous,” stressing that what happened was not consensual.
The two met following the plaintiff wrote to the actor asking for help in the field, and was surprised when Spicey invited him to have drinks together.
The plaintiff pointed out that he ate pizza with Spicy and smoked weed with him before being harassed by the movie star, who he described as “very strange”, which made him nervous.
The plaintiff recalled that he slept in Spicey’s apartment, only to wake up a few hours later and find the actor trying to perform a sexual act with him, so he might only stop him, so that Spicey then asked him to leave, according to the plaintiff’s testimony.
The man added to the policeman: “He (Spicey) told me I shouldn’t talk to anyone regarding what happened.”
Spicey’s trial began late last month at Southern Crown Court in south London.
Spacey pleads guilty to three counts of indecent assault, seven counts of sexual assault and one count of causing someone to engage in sexual activity without their consent.
He is also pleading not guilty on another charge of causing a person to engage in sexual activity involving penetration without his consent.
Spacey’s trial is expected to last regarding a month.
