A trip that takes on a whole new look: an American who dreamed of the landscapes of Sydney saw himself landing in Montana rather than Australia.
“I saw a mountain covered in snow… at that moment I knew I was in trouble,” Kingsley Burnett, 62, told KTVQ.
The New Yorker had planned an idyllic cruise in Australia, but ended up stopping in Billings on his way to Sidney, Montana. He jumped when he saw the tiny plane, parked on a snowy runway, which was to take him to Montana.

He said he got mixed up between the codes for the different flights, but was not alarmed by the huge price difference between the two destinations. He considered himself rather lucky to come across such a bargain!
“It’s really the acronyms: SYD (Australia) and SDY (USA). Someone has to change that,” Mr. Burnett added.
An airport employee finally helped the confused traveler to return him to the fold.
