A man accused of abusing his partner’s daughter was extradited from Paraguay

The city police, with the help of Interpol and the local police, arrested in Paraguay a man accused of having raped his ex-partner’s 9-year-old daughter and was brought before the Justice. Although the arrest occurred last September, the defendant was extradited at the request of the Argentine Justice and landed in the last hours at Aeroparque: he was transferred to a dungeon.

The case began when the girl’s mother reported in January 2021 that her then-partner had abused her daughter at a time when she was in his care in a house on Humboldt Street, in the Sol y Verde neighborhood, in the Buenos Aires town of Jose C. Paz.

After the complaint, the man he ran away. The case was handled by UFI No. 14 of San Martín, in charge of Mariano Becerrawith the intervention of the Court of Criminal Guarantees 4, who requested last April the Captures and Fugitives Division of the Department of Search for Persons of the City Police to carry out investigative tasks to find the accused for the crime of sexual abuse aggravated with carnal access.

The personnel of the Buenos Aires force immediately began the search, and among the records in which they drank, they determined that he was listed as an employee of a company in Pilar, but when meeting with those responsible, they learned that he had left work in February.

Thus, the officers searched on social networks until they found the defendant’s Facebook profile.

Officers investigated the images the man posted, believing they may have been taken in the area of Missions. Given this, the complainant was consulted and she stated that one of the possibilities was that her ex-partner might have fled to the region of San Rafael del Paraná, in Paraguay, bordering the missionary city of Montecarlo.

The officers of the Captures and Fugitives Division of the City Police requested the intervening Prosecutor’s Office and the Guarantee Court to issue an international arrest warrant through the red notice at Interpol.

Once the Court gave the order and the search was uploaded to Interpol, the case was prosecuted before the competent courts of Paraguay.

Since August 30, when this process was concretized, the police personnel maintained constant communication with the Itapúa Investigations Department, providing all possible information. On September 11, the fugitive was arrested in the 3 de Febrero region of San Rafael del Paraná Districtremaining at the disposal of the Criminal Court of that jurisdiction.
