A major comparison of photovoltaic installations will be released in 2023 – rts.ch

The “Mont-Soleil” solar power plant and research center, located in the Bernese Jura, is launching a major comparison of photovoltaic installations in 2023. An innovative project that will aim to present objective and independent results.

“We are at an energy turning point with solar as the pillar of this transition. However, we wish to be able to give more transparency in photovoltaic panels”, explained Thursday in the 12:30 p.m. Cédric Zbinden, president of the company Mont-Soleil and director of electric forces La Goule.

The criteria taken into account when comparing the data will be essentially technical, but other broader criteria will also be taken into consideration, such as the place of production or the CO2 balance.

“View in real condition”

Two test centers financed by the Confederation are already carrying out tests on the power of the panels and their resistance with also the possibility of comparing the data. So what more does the project bring? “We are in contact with several Swiss players who allow us to have a vision in real conditions with a renewal of panels each year according to the technologies and the producers”, answers Cédric Zbinden.

More and more homeowners are turning to solar. Federal and cantonal initiatives are also underway to encourage photovoltaic panels on as many buildings as possible. This is particularly the case of the Geneva Greens with their “Solar 2035” initiative. The text asks that within twelve years all the roofs can create electricity in Geneva.
