A. Lukashenko about migrants moving to the West: we will not catch anything here, let them go

As reported on the official website of the President of Belarus, “the President visited the Minsk region on a working visit. He inspected the newly built block of individual houses and talked to representatives of the state media of Belarus.

It was there that the question was raised about migrants who are moving to the West through Belarus – trying to cross the borders of Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland.

Speaking to the representatives of channels favorable to him, the dictator stated that “bodies of dead migrants are brought and dumped from neighboring countries every day.”

“Dead bodies are dropped not only every day, but several times a day. And corpses, broken and mutilated. I told the representative: there is no need to hide anything. Show what it does. We have those shots. It is necessary to show the “civilized” world what the “garden of paradise” is like, – A.Lukashenko‘s words are quoted by belsat.eu.

He also stated that Belarus “is not a filtration camp”: “We will not catch anything here. Especially since they themselves invited them. Let him go.”

Latvian border guards shared a video on Friday showing a group of migrants on the Belarusian side carrying what appeared to be the bodies of two people, apparently without signs of life.

As you can guess belsat.eu, this is the situation that A.Lukašenka commented on, blaming the Latvians. As can be guessed, it could have been a staging for propaganda.

This year, VSAT officials prevented a total of 2,188 illegal migrants from Belarus from entering Lithuania in unauthorized places.

Since August 3, 2021, when Lithuanian border guards gained the right to turn illegal migrants, about 21.5 thousand of them have not been allowed into the country from Belarus. Some foreigners tried to enter Lithuania more than once.

The influx of migrants to the eastern members of the European Union from Belarus started in 2021, for which the West blames the Minsk regime. At that time, almost 4.2 thousand people arrived illegally from Belarus to Lithuania. migrants, but most of them left the country after the end of movement restrictions.

At the moment, the most complicated situation with migrants is in Latvia – the neighboring country is also helped by the officers of the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service.

In the last 24 hours alone, 114 attempts to illegally cross the border were recorded at the border of Latvia, Polish officials did not allow 72 migrants to enter the country on Saturday. On the border of Lithuania with Belarus, no migrants who tried to cross the border illegally were recorded on Monday, VSAT reported on Monday.

At that time, A. Lukashenko says about the relations with the western neighbors: “We trusted them. Even if we didn’t trust each other, we always sought an agreement and reached out (For the West – ed. post.). And they threw stones at us. But we are ready to ignore even that. We must look to the future. Now we have to be ready to defeat it and move forward. We are ready for it.”

Lithuanian border guards have repeatedly shared recordings of exactly how migrants overcome our eastern border with the help of Belarusian officials.
