A long pottery Sunday this weekend in Vallauris

The city will once once more celebrate all those who symbolize the ancestral know-how of working the earth: the potters. For this traditional festival which takes place tomorrow and is completely free, the entertainment program is very rich and diverse.

From 9 a.m. to midnight, the traditional pottery market organized by the Vallaurian Association for Ceramic Expansion will take place on Place de l’Homme-au-Mouton and Place de la Liberation.

At 10.15 a.m., in the Sainte-Anne-Saint-Martin church, the solemn mass will be celebrated followed, at 11.15 a.m., by the procession behind the statue of Saint-Claude, the patron saint of potters. The procession will take Avenue Georges-Clemenceau.

At 12:30 p.m. a ceremonial aperitif will be served on the Saint-Martin square, rue François-Donnet.

From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. modeling for young and old.

There are also face-painting workshops for children as well as the sale of branded T-shirts and posters. Pottery Festival 2023 which will be autographed, from 7 to 8 p.m., on the Place de la Liberation by their creator, Dominique Sassi.

From 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., parades and musical strolls will enliven the town centre. For children, the traditional Roumpo-Pignata will take place at the corner of the potters’ path, while from 7 to 8 p.m. there will be races for board carriers. The day will end from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a show entitled Land of Firea veritable whirlwind of lights, flames and fireworks performed on the church square by the Soukha company.

Visitors will also be able to discover theGrandjean space with its old kiln, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and attend a demonstration of different ceramic art techniques. L’atelier galerie Portanier offers 30-minute guided tours from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 8, chemin des Potiers. At pottery museumfilming demonstration from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 21, rue Sicard (museum opening 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.). ,exhibition of ceramists from Vallauris from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 35, av. Georges Clemenceau. Finally the Magnelli Museum and the National Picasso Museum War and Peace will receive the public from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Place de la Liberation.
