In 2002, as a 22-year-old, she competed in her first mountain running world championships in Innsbruck. At the beginning of June, Andrea Mayr could come full circle at the world championships in the Stubaital: the “endurance runner” from Gmunden is thinking of saying goodbye to the competition scene. Not because the senior physician for orthopedic surgery at the Salzkammergut Clinic is now 43 years old and has become “sluggish”, but because her priorities will soon shift.
