A file name discovered by dataminers gives us a first clue regarding the class which will join Diablo 4 with its first expansion, Vessel of Hatred.
Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred leak, shared on Reddit, contains various file names that might be spoilers for the direction the adventure will take in the world of Sanctuary and it turns out that a class of Diablo is precisely from this land. Many of the filenames include the word Kurast, the jungle city that players visited in Diablo 2 while chasing Diablo’s brother Mephisto.

Coincidentally, following his return in Diablo 4, Mephisto appears to be the next big bad in the game’s first expansion known as Vessel of Hatred. The expansion might see the heroes following Mephisto’s trail, on a journey that takes them back to the jungles of Kurast, but more importantly, they might seek help from the warriors who live there, the Witch Doctors, making these latest Diablo 4’s next potential class.

Of course, this hasn’t been confirmed by Blizzard, but returning to Kurast might be the perfect opportunity to bring back the Witch Doctor class and tie them into the lore and gameplay (and marketing) of the Vessel of Hatred expansion. As for lore, it’s likely that the Witch Doctors won’t be happy to see Mephisto and his demons back on their land, especially following his destruction in Diablo 2. So it would make sense that they’ll do whatever it takes their power to fight him and end his reign of terror.

Mephisto himself might be back in the jungles of Kurast in search of something related to his time in these lands in the past, allowing us to explore an area neglected since Diablo 2. Although a similar location was seen in Diablo 3, it is Kurast who is associated with Mephisto and the Witch Doctor class. However, some might argue that the Witch Doctor is too similar to the Necromancer and Druid classes. However, the Necromancer and Witch Doctor were both present as classes in “Diablo 3.
