A leaden star: “Francis Ngannou would crush you, let’s be realistic”

In the absence of Francis Ngannou, operated on his right knee a few weeks ago, the heavyweight category seems open for its other headliners. Full of ambitions, one of them however received a big call to order involving the Predator!

Will he have the opportunity to defend his heavyweight belt for the second time? Nothing is less sure. Francis Ngannou is currently waiting to see his contract extended at the UFC before dreaming of a new gala fight for the division belt. Fight which might, if they reach an agreement with its leaders, oppose it to Jon Jones, who is preparing for his side for his debut at the heavyweights:

Jon Jones inferior to Ngannou? The answer kills

Supposedly close to a return to competition following two years of inactivity, Jones will for the occasion be entitled to a strong opponent at +93kg. This should indeed be played out between Stipe Miocic… and Ngannou, in the event of an extension of the Predator. However, for some Internet users, Bones would not be ready enough at all to compete with the champion in view of his last video!

Jon Jones : For anyone saying I looked a little slow in my last workout video, thank you for the extra motivation. I’m going to push some more, and I can’t wait for you to see me in my true fighting form. Good things come to those who wait for.

Internet user: Ngannou would crush you, let’s be realistic. I like you Jonny and you’re the GOAT of fighters, but Francis Ngannou has never lost by knockout or submission. 16 of his 17 wins have been by knockout and submission. He doesn’t let anyone go following 5 rounds.

Nobody… except Ciryl Gane, defeated by decision by Ngannou last January. Jones would therefore do well to draw inspiration from the French if he wishes to dominate Francis in the octagon, even if the latter had to deal with a seriously injured right knee that evening!

Close to returning to the UFC cage, Jon Jones would not yet be at the level of Francis Ngannou to steal the heavyweight champion belt. The American will therefore be keen to prove his detractors wrong in the coming months!
