A landslide on the Corniche de Brazzaville bordering the Congo River killed two people on Thursday 28 July. A deplorable situation following the theft of scrap metal perpetrated by uncivil on this infrastructure, said Simone Loubienga, administrator mayor of the second district of Brazzaville, Bacongo.

A tragedy occurred on Thursday July 28 at the Corniche de Brazzaville in the second arrondissement of Bacongo. For good reason, this section of the road suffered a landslide on the side of the road along the Congo River. The balance sheet shows two dead, according to official figures. Informed of the situation by the police services of her district, the administrator mayor of Bacongo, Simone Loubienga came to inquire regarding the situation. To believe Simone Loubienga, this incident is due to the incivility of certain compatriots who come to steal the iron intended to protect the Corniche once morest erosion. « For some time you have known that these berries of the Corniche have been backfilled to be able to have an earthwork. And so, in this embankment, there is scrap metal and the incivics come to dig up this scrap metal to resell it », explained Simone Loubienga. The administrator mayor of The Congo condemned this act before calling on the populations to raise awareness in order to preserve their lives but also public goods.
