An evening in the name of love for basketball and, above all, the red and white colours of the Carpegna Ham Basket Pesaro. This is the summary of the Presentation of the Club and the training – sponsored by Eden Viaggi – called to face – on and off the pitch – the 2024/2025 season.
Hundreds of fans crowded the stadium on Tuesday, September 10th People’s Square to attend the event hosted by the Sky Sport journalist Gaia Accotoon the stage set up a few metres from the Biosphere, symbol of Pesaro Italian Capital of Culture 2024, to remember another sphere, the orange basketball that can give so many emotions to all enthusiasts.
The highest authorities spoke on stage, starting with the President of the Regional Council Dino Latini, followed by the Mayor of Pesaro Andrea Biancani and by the deputy mayor Daniel Wicker. Also present was the Sports Councillor, Thousand of Dora and the vice president of FIP Marche, Maurizio Biondini. An evening that saw the presence of illustrious guests such as the two-time MotoGP™ world champion Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaiathe 2020 vice-champion in top class Franco Morbidelli, beyond Celestine Vietti e Federico Fuligin: all of the VR46 Riders Academy.
An event strongly desired by the new governance of the Club, led by the new President Andrea Valley who underlined the importance of basketball in the Pesaro square and the desire to bring Vuelle back to where it deserves to be, that is, in the top league, concluding his speech by quoting the touching words of the unforgettable Alphonso Ford (‘Be strong and fight hard‘).
Feelings and objectives also shared by Frank Arceci who underlined how the Company can count on the support of a valid pool of companies and sponsors that are part of the Pesaro Basketball Consortium led by Arceci himself, who also brought greetings from the Beretta family, which for the sixth consecutive year is Main Sponsor with the Prosciutto di Carpegna brand.
“We are very happy to be alongside the Victoria Libertas Basket Pesaro with the Eden Viaggi brand, with which we have been sponsoring the team for over 10 years – comments Tommaso Bertini, Chief Marketing Officer of Alpitour World – The new corporate governance has allowed us to create a competitive team in a very short time. We are certain that Serie A2 will offer an exciting championship full of challenges between the many teams ready to compete for victory, with the hope of returning to compete in the top division as soon as possible”.
The evening was further ‘heated up’ by the chants of many fans ready to support Vuelle at any moment, as also reiterated by Coach Pino Sacripanti, took the stage together with the ten players who make up the red and white roster this year, in addition to the vice coach James Baioni, all’assistant coach Luca Pentucci and to the various members of the Pesaro staff.
Curiosities, anecdotes and lots of sympathy in the talk space conducted with great professionalism by Gaia Accoto who interviewed Simone Zanotti, Matteo Imbrò, VJ King and Khalil Ahmad: the team and staff are ready to give their all to achieve important goals and to uphold the honour of the red and white colours.
Now, all that’s left to do is get on the field and support the players who will try to bring Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro back to Serie A: based on what we saw in Piazza del Popolo, this ‘journey’ couldn’t have asked for a better start!
