As too often this season, the Thunder was violently corrected on its floor this Friday, that times by the Timberwolves. As crazy as it may seem, the best defensive action of the evening on the OKC side was carried out by… a concierge!
Let it be said, the meeting between the Timberwolves and the Thunder this Friday was not to be the most followed, both in France and across the Atlantic. It must be recognized that the two franchises do not have an army of fans, and above all the poster was anything but balanced. So obviously a surprise quickly arrived in the NBA, but Minnesota honored its rank as a playoff team with a 138-101 victory.
At the end of a high-level collective performance, with no player with more than 20 points but 6 to more than 15, Chris Finch’s men made short work of Oklahoma City, where Théo Maledon did not not been particularly good. The young French leader finished with 8 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds, but with only 20% shooting success…
A janitor takes out the defensive action of the evening!
In fact, aside from a raging Shai Gilgeous-Alexander with 33 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds, no Thunder player offered Wolves any resistance. The proof, the most beautiful defensive action of the evening was carried out by a concierge surprised by a counter-attack. The referees were so surprised by this stop that they forgot to whistle.

You made fun of Michael Jordan because he was playing once morest janitors back then, but today’s players don’t even know how to score on it anymore.
On a very predictable pass from Isaiah Roby to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jordan McLaughlin nailed the interception and rushed in to score a fairly easy two-pointer… but that was without counting on the presence of two employees of the Paycom Center, in charge of drying the parquet following the falls of players. Obviously embarrassed, the substitute leader might not conclude this counter-attack, however given.
If D’Angelo Russell has no excuse for this missed tap, the Wolves should have come away with two points, it is quite surprising to see the referees inactive on this action. It’s hard to know if the regulations provide anything for such an improbable situation, but Jordan McLaughlin might legitimately have complained… Fortunately, the action did not change the outcome of the meeting.
When the employees in charge of drying the parquet defend better than the players on the field, it is necessary to ask sserious questions… The Thunder is in the midst of rebuilding, but this action still says a lot regarding the state of the franchise.
