The firefighters of the Hemeco zone were called this Friday morning around 9:30 a.m. for the fire of a house located on Chemin de la Haute Sarte in Huy, in the Liège region. The house was completely ablaze when firefighters arrived.
The acting mayor Eric Dossogne, who went there, indicates that there are at least two dead. Inside the house was indeed a father and his two sons. The octogenarian father and one of his forty-year-old sons, who has a disability, have died. The other son was able to get out in time and tried to help them, to no avail.
The men on the fire had to request the reinforcement of the firefighters of Liège to bring the fire under control. According to the first elements of the investigation, the cause of the fire was the heating system of the bathroom. “They were a well-known family and were involved in a lot of activities in the neighborhood,” specified Éric Dossogne.
Around 12:15 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished.
