Al-Marsad Newspaper: A hospital in Jeddah obtained a ruling obligating the family of a deceased woman to pay an amount of 62,570 riyals to her, almost two years following her death.

In the details, Abd al-Majid al-Maalawi, the lady’s grandson, narrated that his grandmother was admitted to the hospital following she had shortness of breath, and following receiving treatment, they reported that she was suspected of being infected with the Corona virus, and she must be hypnotized to follow up on her condition.

He added: They said that the costs of her treatment would be borne by the Ministry of Health, as she was infected with the Corona virus, and we asked to refer her to a government hospital, and she was refused because there was no bed, and she remained in the private hospital until she left.

He added that the hospital is asking his family to pay 62,570 riyals for his grandmother’s treatment, adding: There was no response from the Ministry of Health regarding my grandmother’s crisis.

And he continued: I wish the Ministry of Health to form a committee to solve the problem with the private hospital, and the death was following two years of health problems, because of which she was admitted to the hospital and died naturally.
