This Monday evening, Joseph, a 28-year-old Herstalien, goes to a Night Shop and does some shopping. He returns home and finds that his wallet has been stolen. He receives a notification on his mobile telling him that another purchase has just been made in the same Night Shop. Joseph goes there once more and comes across the person who stole his wallet. He asks her to return it but the thief refuses. Joseph then lands several punches in the face of his thief.
The police, called by the owner of the Night Shop, arrested Joseph who was brought to the Liège prosecutor’s office on Tuesday morning for assault and battery. The thief suffers four days of incapacity for work. He confesses and admits that he used Joseph’s bank card but he is released. He might be prosecuted later. Joseph is the subject of an accelerated summons before the criminal court of Liège.
