A hero behind the camera.. How did McGuire “Choice 3” excel in embodying the real characters?

The name of the Egyptian make-up artist, Ahmed Mustafa, shined since the beginning of the series “The Choice 3”, where he excelled in drawing and approximating the features of the heroes of the work and reaching the closest form to the real character that they embody.

The Egyptian make-up artist Ahmed Mustafa told Sky News Arabia that for regarding a month and a half, the pictures of “Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi – former President Mohamed Morsi – Khairat al-Shater – Sheikh of Al-Azhar” and others did not leave his imagination, until he was able to work out in the most accurate picture.

It embodies Yasser Jalal (President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi), Sabry Fawaz (Mohamed Morsi), Khaled Al-Sawy (Khairat Al-Shater), and others during the series “The Choice 3” (written by Hani Sarhan – directed by Peter Mimi).

Two years business trip

Macaire tells the series regarding the difficult period before the start of filming, saying: “We remembered all the details of the characters during regarding two years, the period between 2011 and 2013. Everyone had confidence in success and excellence, and the sessions between us always confirmed that they would strive to reach the closest form of the character they embody.”

Ahmed Mustafa continued: “In the beginning, we used to draw the characters in colors on the actor’s face, exactly like the portrait, until we got to doing many rehearsals before filming, and when we got to the last rehearsal, everyone was happy with what had been accomplished,” thus explains “Mustafa” regarding the changes that took place in series stars.

Al-Sisi and Al-Shater..the most difficult

He continued, “I cut the artist Yasser Jalal’s hair from the front, and on the contrary, the upper part of the artist’s forehead was completed, in addition to that it was small, unlike the personality of Mohamed Morsi, which he is trying to embody, so the role of the hairdresser appeared to merge the wig with the original, which he was able to implement. Distinguished as well.”

Mustafa explained that the most difficult stage was Yasser Jalal’s frontal haircut, then he began working with his own hairdresser, Mohammed Saad and the stylist Hassan Mustafa, to reach the ideal shape, adding that Khairat Al-Shater’s personality was also difficult, as he executed the chin of Khaled Al-Sawy, a lock of a lock.

It is noteworthy that the make-up artist Ahmed Mustafa won the Best Makeup Award for the year 2021 for the movie “The Man and the Mongoose”.
