In Brittany, a helicopter narrowly avoided the crash on Wednesday followingnoon as it flew past the lighthouse off Pointe du Raz, a French tourist hotspot, where the incident was filmed. According 20 minutesthe machine was on a mission to drop off and deliver boxes of equipment to the lighthouse, located on a small island two kilometers off the mainland.
The helicopter was static at just over 30 meters above sea level when the incident occurred. For some unexplained reason, the helicopter suddenly pitched down, coming dangerously close to the rocks below the lighthouse. The pilot then managed a very complicated maneuver to right the aircraft. He was then able to stabilize it and continue his flight, not without a significant release of smoke as can be seen in the images.
If the pilot comes out of it with a big fright, one of the agents of the Lighthouses and beacons present on the lighthouse, was still injured according to 20 minutes. He had to be evacuated with a Civil Security helicopter. An internal investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the incident.
