A hefty fine for the head coach of the Sharks

It is very rare for a head coach to be expelled in the middle of a game in the National Hockey League. The fine that the head coach of the San Jose Sharks received on Wednesday may deter other pilots tempted to go too far.

The Bettman Circuit has fined David Quinn $25,000 for his behavior in Saturday’s game once morest the Washington Capitals. Dissatisfied with a penalty awarded to his striker Kevin Labanc, the former New York Rangers instructor freaked out and did not hold back from using foul language towards the officials.

The Sharks conceded four goals following Quinn was sent off and lost the game 8-3.

The Californian formation is not at the end of its troubles. Losing in eight of its last 10 games, it sits last in the Pacific Division with a 19-34-12 record.

Also, on Tuesday night, star player Erik Karlsson received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in a 6-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche. The bloodied Swedish defender threw his helmet on the ice in protest following being hit in the face by Alex Newhook without the Avs striker being sanctioned.
