Deaf Australian Shepherd Levi was quickly awakened by his sister, Maisie, a Golden Retriever, as he slept on the couch, completely oblivious to the fact that the twins’ owners had just returned home from an outing. Maisie was caught running to the sofa, jumping across the cushions and rubbing her head against Levi’s fur to alert him of the happy news.
Both dogs were then seen excitedly running towards their parents to greet them! The clip, uploaded by leviandmaisy on TikTok, has since been viewed more than 26 million times and garnered over 2.5 million likes and 5,000 comments, with users calling the sisterly relationship “the sweetest thing they’ve ever seen ».
A caption that appears on the screen next to the video reads: “Maisy wakes up her deaf brother Levi to let him know we’re home.” The account added: “I hope she never stops doing this for him.”
Thousands of TikTok users flooded in with comments on the touching gesture. One said: “Seriously the cutest thing ever, they are lucky to have each other,” while another fascinated viewer asked: “How did she know her brother was deaf?” I’m so fascinated by it it’s the sweetest thing ever.”
A third user said: “I cry when I think about how she always takes care of her brother so he doesn’t miss a thing,” to which the account replied: “She’s such a mama bear! She loves her Levi’s!” Responding to another user, they added: “The first time we caught her doing this on camera she was so cute but it sure scared him! If we try to wake him up ourselves, we start putting our hands in front of the nose to try to help.”
